Corliss Jekielek

The link between Laura's design vision and the execution of that vision is a myriad of detail that lies in the hands of office manager, Corliss Jekielek. She has been with Laura Barnett Designs since 1990 and is the ever-cheerful voice you hear when you call the office. As the primary in-office staff member, Corliss ensures that the various elements of each project come together and flow smoothly from start to finish.  On any given day you can find her tracking down errant trim for the smallest pillow to scheduling the delivery of entire households of furniture, bringing the behind the scenes activities together with quick and quiet ease. Corliss takes the responsibility of upholding the firms' hallmark attention to precise details very much to heart.  Whether inspecting finished bedding before delivery and installation or making sure workmen arrive on time, she is proud of her contributions to the finished project.

As expected of an American Literature major, Corliss is an avid reader favoring Southern women authors and she energizes her batteries by connecting with extended family weekly for fine dining and competitive domino playing.  She is a Chicago native and from her office window, can see both the home her family lived in when she was born and, off on the horizon, her present home on Chicago's Northwest side.  An exercise enthusiast, she enjoys walking and biking in the local city parks. Indoors she is an accomplished needlewoman whose knitting and needlepoint projects are part of her household décor and wardrobe.  Corliss is active in her church and a dedicated volunteer, renowned for lending a hand to any worthy cause wherever or however needed.
