Susan Oshinski

For over 20 years, combining her experience in residential and commercial design as well as the graphic arts, Susan Oshinksi has been successfully blending her avocations. A graduate of Mundelein College with FIDER accreditation Susan has furthered her studies at Northern Illinois University with summer classes in England and France. Her travels abroad from Europe to the Far East and the Caribbean have allowed her to indulge her love of exotic new places. This exposure brings an international appreciation of emotion, languages and architecture to her designs. In her role as a consultant for Laura Barnett Designs she relishes the challenge of any design project. Susan is comfortable working in any size space, not surprisingly, one of her favorite projects was in Pamplona, Spain. She is particularly in tune with environmentally responsible design. Highly sensitive to irritants and pollutants she stresses healthful interior environments and “green initiatives”.

The mother of two children Susan shares her daughter’s passion for equestrian pursuits and her son’s for baseball, a dichotomy she relishes and one that allows her to enjoy outdoors Chicago in all seasons. Also very interested in alternative medicine and natural health she hosts seminars on these issues quarterly. With her unique perspective on all the positive aspects of life she incorporates her family interests with a passion for design, a blend that creates a lifestyle suited to her spirit.
